I have to thank my daughter for the beautiful coloring that she did on this page.
I have been listening to the biography of Leonardo da Vinci by Walter Isaacson and was happy to hear another shout out to the rhombicuboctahedron. I learned Leonardo worked really closely with Luca Pacioli (known as “The Father of Accounting and Bookkeeping”). Luca also wrote a book called Divina proportione, which Leonardo illustrated, and it has the first printed illustration of a rhombicuboctahedron! Also there is a rhombicuboctahedron hanging in the portrait of Luca!
