I actually didn’t have this guy in my first draft but I was listening to Brandon Sanderson’s lectures on writing that are on YouTube and he was talking about having conflict. I realized I needed more of that. His lectures are on fantasy and sci-fi but if you’re interested in writing you should check them out. He also talks about the business side.

If you haven’t read his stuff you should read the Alcatraz series. I can’t wait until my kids are old enough that I can read them to ’em.
